File Formats

Transline translates documents from nearly all file formats using Windows, Mac and Linux. Upon completion, we provide the translated file in the source format, or we convert it to any other format requested by the client.

File formats differ in how easily the content can be translated. Some formats (such as WinWord) can be translated directly by the translator without any technical preparation. Other formats such as QuarkXPress have to be pre and post-processed to assure the quality of the translation.

Translation technologies, such as Transcycling® and terminology databases, increase quality and reduce costs. However, they often require conversion of the source file format. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider the file format of the source material if you're on a budget.
